John Ferns idea of making music & writing guitar melodies
is composing tunes which favours not only guitar players and
musicians but non-musicians too. The aim is to write strong
and memorable guitar melodies that people can hum along. It's
the most common factor that many professional musicians use
to compose their tunes and get their music across to a wider
audience.
Indian
guitarist John Ferns started playing guitar at the age of 16.
Initially being self taught he took just a few formal lessons
to learn music theory, Within a year he was jamming with friends
and at the same time learning guitar techniques as he discovered
music by guitar Virtuosos like Satriani, Vai, Vinnie Moore,
Malmsteen, Kee Marcello etc...just to name a few. His guitar
style comprises of rock, metal, neo-classical & blues.
In
1995, John joined the established heavy metal band Brahma. Playing
lead guitar he was then widely recognized by the audiences with
his exhilarating guitar skills. Mid 2003, Sony music signed
Brahma to release their second album titled "Reborn",
John's guitar work & compositions on the album is widely
appreciated by the rock fans.
As
a successful freelance musician, John has worked with a wide
range of artists/bands and performed in many musical events,
tours, tv shows, studio sessions etc...The artists/bands that
he worked with include Neeraj Shridhar (Bombay Vikings), Shibani
Kashyap, Neha Bhasin, Gaurav Dagaonkar, Fahrenheit, Pralay etc...
May
2007, John released his first rock guitar instrumental ep "AXETACY"
consisting of 6 songs. Few copies were printed for die hard
guitar fans and promotional purposes only. As the purpose was
to attain maximum listenership John decided to let people download
his copyrighted music for free from his personal website. Click

Besides
writing new music and doing gigs, John on a daily basis teaches
guitar and sometimes does studio sessions.
